If you took the strengths of others, and compared them to your weaknesses, how do you think you’d size up? And do you think this would make you feel good?
The funny thing is, this is what most of us do at one time or another — and some of us do pretty often.
It’s a sure-fire recipe for a drop in self-confidence and for unhappiness. It’s also not that useful.
Most of the comparison is done by our parents.when we got marks in our studies good or bad that's don't matter they just want to compare to others.
We compare our self in daily life with one another without thinking good or bad, right or wrong. We should be best that we can be comparing our present with our outermost potentials which helps us to become a better person each new day.
Let’s say I take a look at someone who creates amazing artwork and really top-notch podcast on their website … and I look at my art and video skills, and realize that I don’t come close to measuring up. In fact, I look pretty pitiful (I’m a lousy drawer and don’t know anything about video).
But wait a minute: it’s not a fair comparison. Just because I don’t measure up doesn’t mean I should get out of the blogging business, or that I should get depressed or jealous or resentful. Instead, if I looked at my strengths — writing useful and honest posts — I can see that I have a lot to offer, a lot to be happy about.
And that’s so important — being able to look at your own strengths, and see your true value. It’s actually one of the keys to success, because without this ability, you will be unmotivated, and won’t believe in yourself.
comparing with others make u lose your self confidence which mean when comparing to one who is great than you first be what you are. Compare yourself to few people, that you admire. Not physically but their with their bright personalities.
I never, ever compare myself to anyone.
And if there's one thing guaranteed to irk me, it's when someone attempts to make comparisons about me, regardless of whether they're favourable comparisons or not.
I am only myself, and I can only be me, and I like to be accepted for myself and not compared to another. I neither do compare nor prefer some one refer comparison.
It is never ending story and no one is satisfied at any stage.
So just be cool and enjoy.
Don't compare yourself ,If you do you are insulting yourself .
when i was small i was really good in studies.During the exams time my friends studies day and night the course books but i study the comics books that time. And gets good marks in exams.
But the time is reversed even studying day and night the % of success is not more than 10.
It was more worst in 10th prelims when i nearly failed in half of the subjects.
My parents are paying thousands from my education here.. and they were not in the best mood when i told them my mark..
That's when i took a deep stare at my reflection in the mirror and starting wondering, what the hell is wrong with me. Don't get me wrong. I love learning, i really wanna do something with my life when I grow up.
But after reading about some of the great people i found that they were also fail in there life like me,like you and like others.
Albert Einstein - had a speech epidiment, expelled from school, wasn't brilliant in math at his age, but he was good.
Thomas Edison - was told he was too "stupid" and thrown out of school, but clearly he proved that wrong...
Abraham Lincoln - was defeated in numerous businesses.
J.K. Rowlings - went through severe depression, and ended up being one of the world's richest people.
Claude Monet - was considered to be a failed artist, and a mocking in art at his time, but he definately proved that wrong.
Michael Jordan - he was cut from his high school basketball team!, and now look at him...
Walt Disney - was fired from a newspaper editor because he lacked "imagination and good ideas", and now he's earning billions!
Issac Newton - he failed in school soo bad, that his uncle took him to his farm in shame.
Henry Ford - went broke 5 times!
Leonardo Da Vinci - had severe dyslexia, but he managed to become of the most known people in the world!
Bill Gates- did fail in university of harvard...
So, why did all these people become extremely successful despite their failures?
the answer i eventually found was that they succeeded because despite their failures they never gave up which which eventually led them to suceed.
They learned from their mistakes.
Not every successful person failed at school or life.
Look at Bill Gates."
Its like a wise man said. " Good things come with time but Great things come all at once." Its what we call taking big risks. It just works.
Its enough to motivate inspire me What about YOU..
